New Balance Super Team 33, Round 2 – BORING

The second round of New Balance Super Team 33 sneakers are boring, boring, boring. I wasn't a huge fan of the first set, but at least they pushed the limits... I mean, no one had used fish for the inspiration of sneakers to the extent that they did.

The only slightly interesting thing about these shoes is the use of a little tiny bit of stingray material. They are basically a bucket of yawns.

Nike Free 5.0 10AC - COPPED

The latest pair of sneakers I've purchased (at The 400 in Denver), if you haven't already guessed, is the 10AC Nike Free 5.0.

Apparently 10AC is an entirely new line of Nike products focused primarily at the martial arts community. It's influenced heavily by martial artist Caol Uno... He's had a lot of say in design and production, and "10AC" is a representation of his name spelled backward.

Anyway, the 10AC Free's are fresh. Too fresh, almost. They're made almost entirely out of white patent leather, which, well... It's white patent leather. It's simple, but loud. The pictures below don't really do them justice because these joints are SHINY. Words.

The Nom de Guerre Fall/Winter 2007 Lookbook is Pretty Awesome

Nom de Guerre Fall and Winter 2007 Lookbook sample picture
Most people would probably say Nom de Guerre is pretty damn far from "streetwear," and those people would be correct. Nonetheless, from time to time I like to post about stuff that is just plain cool... Plus these are clothes that I would happily wear, and anything that falls under that category should certainly fall within the jurisdiction of this blog. That said, the Nom de Guerre Fall and Winter 2007 lookbook is a pleasure to browse. For what it's worth, the other ones are pretty awesome, too. Check them out if you are bored or if you are trying to avoid studying for a Behavioral Genetics midterm you have in 3 1/2 hours.

Tom Twerk's Shared Items

Don't forget to check out the "Tom's Shared Items" widget over on the right for some more dankness that I just don't have the time to write about. You'll probably see a lot of items coming from the super-awesome Josh Spear, a few from The Sartorialist, and maybe I'll throw in a couple from Uncrate here and there. These are all great websites and I fire up Google Reader several times daily to see if they've updated.

Also, every once in a while, if you're lucky I might drop some nerdy Lifehacker type business for your consumption.

Burton iDiom Winter 2007-2008 Jackets

As a snowboarder, Burton loyalist, and minor fashion junkie, I'm always very interested in seeing what iDiom has to offer. Just as I'm about to head back to Colorado to finally get some snowboarding in for the 2006-2007 season in over Spring Break, I see, courtesy of Hypebeast, that iDiom is already leaking next season's offerings.

Things are looking good. This year the collection is based upon the color red. (Last year's was grey.) Most of the offerings it appear, are either going to be red or have very powerful red accents. Anyway, here are a few to check out (click them to make them just a lil' bit bigger)...

Polka Dot Bape Stas... NOW WITH STRIPES!!!!!1

A long time ago, I was a Boy Scout. One time while I was at summer camp when I was probably a mere 11 years of age, I wore a striped shirt with some plaid shorts. It must have been Parents' Day or something, because I remember my mother giving me never-ending shit about it. To this day, I have considered stripes and plaid to be a faux pas of the largest magnitude... And the second most significant rule of fashion; second only to "Match your belt with your shoes."

I feel though that I now need to create subsections to my second-favorite rule. Rule 2(A) will now be, "IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, DO NOT MIX POLKA DOTS AND STRIPES, ESPECIALLY ON THE SAME GARMENT!" Rule 2(B) will be my old favorite.

Pillows With a Dude Screwing a Dog on Them!

Get 'em while they're HOT HOT HOT!

No really, though, you can buy these for $50 at XLarge in Los Angeles. I don't really know why you would want to, though. Unless fielding questions like, "Yo, why do you have a pillow with a dude screwing a dog on your couch?" and, "Hey, is that dude screwing that dog?" and, "Do you fuck dogs?" is your thing.

Thanks, High Snob!
